    Dr. Vakil is an Interventional Pulmonologist and Clinical Assisstant Professor at the University of Calgary. His practice is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic cancers. He completed training in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Texas, Houston and sub-specialty training in Interventional Pulmonology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is ABIM certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine, and AABIP certified in Interventional Pulmonology. His research interests are focused on thoracic oncology, particularly the optimal diagnostic and staging pathways for patients with suspected lung cancer, and quality improvement in multi-disciplinary thoracic cancer care.
